WHEREAS, rural and frontier communities in Nevada, and throughout the United States, are wonderful places to live, work and explore; and

WHEREAS, meeting the healthcare needs of citizens in our rural areas is constantly evolving, as rural and frontier communities face accessibility issues, a lack of healthcare providers and larger percentages of un- and underinsured residents; and

WHEREAS, rural healthcare providers offer comprehensive, compassionate, patient-centered and holistic care to patients, and are supported by staff who are dedicated and contribute to the wellness of their community; and

WHEREAS, Nevada rural health organizations have provided a place of collaboration and networking that supports many of the critical operational, regulatory and financial needs of rural hospitals and clinics; and

WHEREAS, all residents of the great State of Nevada, and its visitors, rely upon these dedicated professionals should an accident or illness occur, and this day is an opportunity to recognize and address healthcare issues which affect these families statewide;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim November 14, 2019, as

NEVADA RURAL HEALTH DAY
