WHEREAS,  since 1977, Community Health Centers have provided high-quality, affordable, and comprehensive primary and preventive health care to more than 50,000 Nevadans, according to Nevada Health Centers; and

WHEREAS,  Health Centers are the largest provider of primary care for the uninsured, underinsured, and geographically isolated residents in the state; and

WHEREAS,  Health Centers are the health care home for 28 million patients in over 11,000 communities across the nation, according to National Association of Community Health Centers; and

WHEREAS,  these centers are developing new approaches to integrate a wide range of services beyond primary care, including oral health, vision, behavioral health, and pharmacy services, to meet the needs and challenges of their communities; and

WHEREAS,  the Health Center model continues to prove an effective means of overcoming barriers to health care access, including geography, income, and insurance status; and

WHEREAS,  during Health Center Week, we celebrate the legacy of Community Health Centers, their dedicated staff, board members, patients, and all those responsible for their continued growth and success;
