Seal of the State of Nevada

WHEREAS, Avery Margaret Driscoll was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 30, 2003, and at the age of eight, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor; and

WHEREAS, after her diagnosis, Avery became an ambassador for the St. Baldrick's Foundation and Make-A-Wish, where she remained committed to providing a voice for all children diagnosed with cancer; and

WHEREAS, Avery will be remembered for her joy of the arts, vivacious personality and passion for providing hope to children and their families dealing with childhood cancer; and

WHEREAS, Avery lost her battle with cancer and passed away on June 13, 2016, at the age of 13; and

WHEREAS, in honor of her and her incredible ability to reach out to help others, we celebrate BrAvery Day on March 30th with acts of kindness, as one simple act of kindness can make a positive impact on someone’s day; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada encourages all citizens to join in recognizing Avery Margaret Driscoll and her important impact on our community by participating in BrAvery Day;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim March 30, 2019, as
