WHEREAS, Susan Meuschke has devoted over 30 years of dedicated service advocating for victims of domestic and sexual violence while also increasing awareness throughout the State of Nevada; and

WHEREAS, in 1984 she began her career in advocacy services as a volunteer with the Committee to Aid Abused Women (CAAW), moving on to become the Director of Community Relations; and

WHEREAS, in February 1989 Sue became the Executive Director of the Nevada Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence, formerly the Nevada Network Against Domestic Violence; and

WHEREAS, she is a founding member of the Nevada Domestic Violence Prevention Council and a former member of the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence Steering Committee; and

WHEREAS, Sue has helped shape Nevada’s response to domestic and sexual violence by collaborating with the Nevada State Legislature, the Nevada Supreme Court, the Nevada Office of the Attorney General and the Nevada Department of Human Resources; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada commends Sue for her service as the Executive Director of the Nevada Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence as well as her dedication and talent as a community leader, collaborator, and advocate for survivors;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim February 1, 2019, as a day in honor of
