Seal of the State of Nevada

WHEREAS, Reesha Powell has served the State of Nevada with distinction and professional excellence for more than 25 years; and

WHEREAS, Reesha has served the entirety of her career within the Division of Child and Family Services, beginning on July 26, 1993, as a Clerical Trainee and then being promoted to a Social Worker III, Social Services Program Specialist II, Social Work Supervisor II, Social Services Chief II, Social Services Manager V and will be retiring as Deputy Administrator of Child Welfare; and

WHEREAS, Reesha served as the first supervisor of the Quality Assurance Unit for the Rural Region contributing to the initial UNITY deployment of the statewide child welfare SACWIS system and oversaw implementation of the Advanced Foster Care Program; and

WHEREAS, she has remained an integral role in re-classifying positions within the Division to decrease the vacancy rates throughout Rural Region offices and ensured the finalization of over 20 policies ranging from the Intake Policy to the Kingap Policy; and

WHEREAS, Reesha has dedicated her entire career to serving Nevada’s vulnerable children and families and her commitment to this population is to be recognized; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada commends Reesha Powell for her years of service to the citizens and visitors of our great state and offers best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim February 15, 2019, as a day in honor of
