WHEREAS, Kara Lang has served the State of Nevada with distinction and professional excellence for 25 years; and

WHEREAS, Kara began her career with the Desert Regional Center as a Developmental Support Tech I in 1987, and she then joined the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor II in 1995; and

WHEREAS, she was then promoted to a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor III in 2000, and in September 2002 became a Rehabilitation Supervisor; and

WHEREAS, Kara followed her heart and passion moving in to a new agency role as a Quality Control Specialist II in 2010, and then in 2017 she promoted to Training Officer II; and

WHEREAS, Kara’s excellent analytical skills, dynamic work ethic, natural ability to mentor and coach others, and her drive to provide excellent services to individuals with a disability has set an example in State service for all who have had the opportunity to work with her; and

WHEREAS, Kara was the first to be hired and develop the position of Quality Control Specialist II, first to be hired as a Training Officer II, and she was the first recipient of the Janice A. John Rehabilitation Heart Award after it was given to its namesake; and

WHEREAS, Kara’s methodical approach to learning assisted the agency with the implementation of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014, and she was instrumental in the creation of the E-Rehab program; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada commends Kara Lang for her years of service to the citizens and visitors of our great state and offers best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim July 31, 2019 as a day in honor of
