WHEREAS, Cheryl Giordano has served the State of Nevada with distinction and professional excellence for more than 27 years; and

WHEREAS, Cheryl began her career with the State of Nevada on February 25, 1991, as a Communications System Operator I within the Agency of Public Employee Benefits then promoting to an Administrative Aid I within the Department of Education; and

WHEREAS, in April 1992, Cheryl transferred to the Nevada System of Higher Education working as a Management Analyst and was then promoted to an Administrative Assistant III in August 2001; and

WHEREAS, in November 2003, Cheryl began working as a Family Services Specialist within the Division of Welfare and Supportive Services where she assisted with implementing the Healthcare Reform Act; and

WHEREAS, her extensive knowledge and experience were instrumental to the Department of Health and Human Services serving low income families across the Silver State; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada commends Cheryl Giordano for her years of service to the citizens and visitors of our great state and offers best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim February 14, 2019, as a day in honor of
