WHEREAS, the Nevada State Contractors Board was established in 1941 by the Nevada State Legislature with the mission to protect the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Nevada; and

WHEREAS, there are currently more than 16,000 licensed contractors in the State of Nevada, and the Contractors Board remains committed to promoting public confidence and trust in the competence and integrity of licensees; and

WHEREAS, thousands of Nevada homeowners seek assistance from the Contractors Board each year to remedy and identify options and recourse for their construction-related concerns; and

WHEREAS, the Residential Recovery Fund was established in 1999 to offer protection for Nevada homeowners who hire a licensed contractor and are harmed due to their failure to properly perform qualified services; and

WHEREAS, the Residential Recovery Fund, supported by licensed residential contractors and sub-contractors, has awarded more than 12 million dollars to harmed homeowners in the past 20 years; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada commends the State Contractors Board for providing protection and peace of mind to homeowners when working with a licensed contractor;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby recognize the

20th ANNIVERSARY OF THE NEVADA RESIDENTIAL RECOVERY FUND
