Carson City, NV - January 28, 2019
The Sisolak administration today announced that Helen Kalla has joined the Governor’s staff as the communications director. Today marks Kalla’s first day in the administration.
“I am excited to bring Helen Kalla on to the team,” said Gov. Steve Sisolak. “With her broad experience and knowledge of Nevada, Helen will be an incredible addition to our administration and I’m proud to bring her on board.”
Helen Kalla has worked in politics and government her entire career, most recently in Nevada as the communications director for the NV Dems during the 2018 election cycle. Prior to her time in Nevada, Kalla worked in Washington, DC, helping establish a communications shop for a new nonpartisan citizen engagement nonprofit. Previously, she has served in both campaign communications and official communications roles, including serving in the offices of U.S. Senator Tom Carper of Delaware and Congresswoman Lois Frankel of Florida.
Christina Amestoy, who has served as Interim Communications Director since January 7th and was communications director on the Sisolak campaign, will officially depart on January 31st.
