Governor Sisolak today announced his appointment of Dr. Tiffany Tyler as director of Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation.
“I am pleased to announce that Dr. Tiffany Tyler will be joining my administration as the director of the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation,” said Governor Sisolak. “Dr. Tyler’s unique personal experiences as well as her distinguished career helping at-risk Nevadans will be an asset to the department and my team.”
Dr. Tiffany Tyler has served as the CEO of Communities In Schools of Nevada since August, 2016. CIS of Nevada is part of a national dropout prevention and intervention program, aimed at keeping students in school through graduation. In her capacity as CEO, Tyler oversees services provided to 68,000 students in 63 schools statewide. Prior to her service at CIS of Nevada, Tyler was COO at Nevada Partners where she was tasked with overseeing the administration of programs and services addressing Southern Nevada’s at-risk-adults and youth populations. During her time there, the organization, which is committed to creating communities where all residents can achieve their full potential, was among 30 organizations recognized by the Obama White House as a model workforce development program. Tyler also served on the executive committee of Workforce Connections One Stop Career Center where she achieved a Workforce Development Champion Award. Tyler is a published researcher and a psychologist.
