Governor Sisolak appoints George Togliatti as director of Nevada Department of Public Safety
CARSON CITY, NV - January 10, 2019
Governor Steve Sisolak today named George Togliatti as Director of the Nevada Department of Public Safety.
“I am proud to announce that George Togliatti will be leading the Department of Public Safety in my administration,” said Governor Steve Sisolak. “George has a long, distinguished career in public safety and the respect of Nevada’s law enforcement. I know he will be an incredible asset to the department and am excited to have him as part of my team.”
Togliatti, a former Supervisory Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is an Associate Faculty member at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Greenspun College of Urban Affairs; Master of Science Studies in Emergency & Crisis Management, as well as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice. He also instructs at the William F. Harrah’s College of Hospitality and International Gaming. Togliatti served as a Security Vice President at MGM Resorts International and Caesars World.
Togliatti previously served as Director of the Department of Public Safety under Governor Kenny Guinn who appointed him in February of 2004. Prior to his 2004 appointment, Togliatti served as Regional Vice President of Government, Community Relations, and Regulatory Compliance for Harrah’s Entertainment Inc. Togliatti is a member of the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI and a former Naval Aviator and combat veteran.
