EXECUTIVE ORDER 2019-18

ORDERING FLAGS TO HALF STAFF

IN MEMORY OF REPRESENTATIVE ELIJAH E. CUMMINGS

WHEREAS, President Donald J. Trump issued a Proclamation on October 17, 2019 ordering that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions through October 18, 2019 as a mark of respect for the memory and longstanding public service of Representative Elijah E. Cummings of Maryland;

WHEREAS, Article 5, Section 1 of the Nevada Constitution provides that, “The supreme executive power of this State, shall be vested in a Chief Magistrate who shall be Governor of the State of Nevada.”

NOW, THEREFORE, by the authority vested in me as Governor by the Constitution and laws of the State of Nevada and the United States, and pursuant to the Proclamation issued by President Donald J. Trump on October 17, 2019, it is hereby ordered as follows:

The flags of the United States and the State of Nevada shall be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and all State public buildings and grounds through October 18, 2019 in memory of Representative Elijah E. Cummings.
