WHEREAS, Nevada’s climate and scenery make motorcycle riding an attraction in the Battle Born State and riders consider our roadways to be some of the nation’s best for riding; and
WHEREAS, the motorcycle is an important form of transportation for commuting, touring and recreation; and
WHEREAS, the motorcycle is an energy-efficient vehicle that reduces fuel consumption, traffic and parking congestion; and
WHEREAS, reducing the number of fatalities and crashes associated with motorcycling by encouraging motorcycle operators to participate in rider education programs, wear the proper protective apparel, ride without impairment of drugs and alcohol, and operate their vehicle defensively according to the rules of the road is a key goal; and
WHEREAS, to prevent injuries and deaths on Nevada’s roadways, motorcyclists and motorists must be vigilant in their efforts to Share the Road to ensure the safety of everyone and to reach the goal of Zero Fatalities; and
WHEREAS, all motorcycle organizations, clubs, dealerships, groups and highway safety officials in the state should join together with the State of Nevada to actively promote safe operation, increased rider training and motorist awareness;
