WHEREAS, human trafficking crimes involve the exploitation of a person through force, fraud, or coercion, and is widely considered to be a form of modern-day slavery; and
WHEREAS, human trafficking can take many forms including sex trafficking, forced labor or domestic servitude, and affects men, women, and children around the world; and
WHEREAS, the goal of Human Trafficking Prevention Month is to raise awareness in an effort to end this horrendous crime; and
WHEREAS, the State of Nevada has joined organizations nationwide to take a stand against human and child trafficking by re-committing to fight to end this crime in Nevada; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Motor Vehicles is committed to training its employees on human and child trafficking awareness and encourages all State agencies and residents to support the endeavor to ensure ‘No Child for Sale;’ and
WHEREAS, the State of Nevada proudly participates in the national ‘Wear Blue Day’ campaign on January 11th to show support and solidarity with victims of human trafficking, raise awareness concerning human trafficking issues, and ultimately end human and child trafficking;
