WHEREAS, Gastroparesis is a chronic illness that affects more than five million people in the United States; and
WHEREAS, Gastroparesis or ‘paralysis of the stomach,’ causes debilitating pain, nausea, vomiting, early satiety, extreme weight loss and overwhelming fatigue; and
WHEREAS, there is no known cure, and few effective treatment options or medications; and
WHEREAS, additional research will improve medication and treatment options, and offer better support and hope for the future; and
WHEREAS, this month is an opportunity to educate the medical community and the public regarding the effects of this disorder and promote awareness of the condition for the good of the public health;
