Proclamation Header


WHEREAS, individuals, both career and volunteer, from law enforcement, 911 dispatch, emergency medical services, fire, search and rescue, dive and other organizations in the public safety sector, come together as first responders to aid the public in the event of an emergency; and

WHEREAS,  these first responders risk their own safety in the performance of their duties to protect the public that they serve and are the first line of defense in all emergencies that may threaten our communities; and

WHEREAS, the members of first responder organizations undergo significant and specialized education, training and personal sacrifice in order to achieve the expertise required to respond to all types of emergency situations; and

WHEREAS, these individuals are a vital part of every Nevada community, as they maintain safety and order in times of crisis, volunteer to serve our communities, and are always ready to aid the citizens and visitors to the State of Nevada; and

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BRIAN SANDOVAL, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim  September 27, 2018 as

 First Responders Appreciation Day in Nevada
