WHEREAS, the crime of domestic violence violates an individual’s privacy, dignity, security, and humanity due to systematic use of physical, emotional, sexual, psychological, economic control and abuse; and
WHEREAS, the cruelties of domestic violence are found among all economic, cultural, gender, and social groups and require all Nevadans to take action to reduce harm; and
WHEREAS, domestic violence victims face barriers in escaping abuse but also exhibit remarkable strength and the impact of domestic violence extends widely, while directly affecting families and society as a whole; and
WHEREAS, advocacy networks across Nevada have worked tirelessly on behalf of victims and remain dedicated to providing a voice for victims and families while increasing awareness across the Silver State; and
WHEREAS, October is a time to remember and honor all victims as well as those working toward the elimination of domestic violence and the common goal of expanding prevention efforts across the state
