WHEREAS, chronic disease affects thousands of Nevadans and causes seven out of every ten deaths in the United States; and
WHEREAS, the most common chronic diseases, including cardiovascular, stroke, cancer, type 2 diabetes and obesity, are also the most avoidable; and
WHEREAS, widespread awareness, understanding of chronic disease prevention, and personal accountability is critical to improve quality of life and reduce the number of chronic disease related deaths; and
WHEREAS, Chronic Disease Awareness Day is supported by organizations in the Silver State dedicated to assisting patients and promoting access to care;
