WHEREAS, Thomas Moreo has served Southern Nevada for 33 years as a Clark County Chief Deputy District Attorney; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Moreo, originally hailing from Fort Wayne, Indiana, proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, and is a Vietnam veteran; and

WHEREAS, Thomas earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and his Juris Doctorate at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge Law School; and

WHEREAS, he has dedicated his career to serving the citizens of Clark County, ensuring justice was being served in some of the most severe cases; and

WHEREAS, as a Chief Deputy District Attorney he is credited with starting the Sexual Assault Unit in the Clark County District Attorney’s Office, giving victims of these crimes additional resources and specialized attention to their cases; and

WHEREAS, his tenure with the Clark County District Attorney’s office has been long and distinguished and he has forever made an impact on future generations of attorneys by serving as the Team Chief for General Litigation teams and a variety of specialty teams, including sexual assault, domestic violence, screening and forfeiture; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada commends Thomas Moreo on his dedication, service and mentorship throughout his career, and joins his family, friends and colleagues in extending sincere appreciation for his years of service, with best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BRIAN SANDOVAL, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim  March 2, 2018 a day in honor of
