WHEREAS, Susan Lynch has served the State of Nevada with distinction and professional excellence for 30 years; and

WHEREAS, the Silver State commends Susan Lynch on her efforts as Technical Division Administrator for the Nevada Agency for Nuclear Projects; and

WHEREAS, Susan has maintained commitment and persistence while opposing the Yucca Mountain repository project and was instrumental in uncovering major shortcomings in analyses of the geology and hydrology of the Yucca Mountain site; and

WHEREAS, her tireless efforts for the Agency has resulted in the filing of major technical and safety challenges in the Yucca Mountain licensing proceeding and has been central to the State’s historic intervention in this proceeding; and

WHEREAS, she has contributed directly and importantly to safeguarding Nevada’s citizens and environment for three decades by keeping the federal government from forcing this unsafe project on our state; and  

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada commends Susan Lynch on her outstanding tenure as a dedicated State employee and joins her family, friends and colleagues in extending sincere appreciation for her years of service, with best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BRIAN SANDOVAL, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim  May 18, 2018 as a day in honor of
