WHEREAS, Richard Kent Oram was born in Hammond, Indiana on November 23, 1940 and graduated from Indiana University; and

WHEREAS, Kent Oram was an American hero who served our country well in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged; and

WHEREAS, he founded Oram, Ingram & Zurawski Advertising Inc., and for 36 years he consulted on, and managed, more than 100 Nevada campaigns including those of future governors, county commissioners, sheriffs and judges; and

WHEREAS, his dedication to the people of the Silver State, and work to assist those running for political office, has changed the history of Nevada and his work ethic and commitment to the community will be remembered; and

WHEREAS, Nevada is a better place because of his service and because he enriched his community, the Silver State and our nation; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Oram was devoted to those he served and was a role model to many professionally and personally, he taught many lessons about serving the people and being a good public servant, and he was committed to the Southern Nevada community, and cared deeply about the security and safety of Clark County residents and the citizens and visitors to Nevada; and

WHEREAS, Kent Oram was a wonderful husband to Becky for 55 years, loving father to Lisa, Eric and Andrea, and adoring grandfather to Trevor, Bailie, Anthony and Jackie; and

WHEREAS, Richard Kent Oram passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018, and the thoughts and prayers of the Nevada family are with his family, friends and loved ones;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BRIAN SANDOVAL, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim  April 7, 2018 as a day in honor of
