WHEREAS, Jeffrey Kintop has served the State of Nevada with distinction for 35 years beginning as an Archival Assistant and retiring as the Administrator of the Nevada State Archives Division; and

WHEREAS, Jeff is recognized nationally for contributions to Nevada history and the archival profession for his outstanding work including co-authoring several books and articles such as ‘Earp’s Last Frontier’ and ‘What Time is this Place?;’ and

WHEREAS, he is recognized as a pioneer in establishing history programs including formulating the State Historical Records Advisory Board (SHRAB), the National History Day Program, and hosting the annual celebration of the Nevada State Constitution; and

WHEREAS, Jeff Kintop has devoted countless hours to the areas of disaster planning, preservation, and conservation across the state to ensure that Nevada’s documentary heritage is not lost; and

WHEREAS, Jeff was instrumental in the Nevada State Library and Archives building project in Carson City serving on the building and planning team and guiding the moving process; and

WHEREAS, Jeff’s dedication to the pursuit of accurate historical information has been recognized by his fellow employees and the public while remaining an active member of the Judicial Historical Society, the Conference of Inter-Mountain Archivists which awarded him the Life-Time Achievement Award in 2016, the National Association of Archivists and Records Managers, and the Council of State Archivists; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada commends Jeffrey Kintop on his outstanding tenure as a dedicated State employee and joins his family, friends and colleagues in extending sincere appreciation for his years of service, with best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BRIAN SANDOVAL, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim  September 5, 2018 as a day in honor of
