WHEREAS, Dottie Loewen is retiring after more than 28 years of distinguished service to the citizens of the State of Nevada; and

WHEREAS, Dottie began her career with the Nevada Division of State Parks, as a Park Aid/Secretary, and she was appointed to the Nevada Gaming Control Board as a Clerical Trainee in March 1990 and promoted to several positions within the Board, including Management Assistant I, Personnel Technician, Management Assistant IV, Administrative Assistant IV, and is now retiring after serving several Chairmen and the first Chairwoman of the Board, as the Executive Assistant; and

WHEREAS, Dottie has consistently shown dedication and loyalty, and her commitment to the Board has never waned; and

WHEREAS, Dottie has been recognized in her current role as a dependable member of the staff, and by the gaming industry as a reliable gateway to the Board’s executives; and

WHEREAS, Dottie’s professionalism and ‘can do’ attitude has elevated her as a resource beyond the positions to which she has been assigned; and

WHEREAS, by virtue of her interactions with the gaming industry and Board staff at all levels, her influence will be felt long after she retires; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada commends Dottie Loewen on her outstanding tenure as a dedicated State employee and joins her family, friends and colleagues in extending sincere appreciation for her years of service, with best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BRIAN SANDOVAL, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim  March 9, 2018 as a day in honor of

 DOTTIE LOEWEN
