WHEREAS, on the 50th commemoration of the Vietnam War, artist Steve Maloney was inspired to create 'Take Me Home Huey' in partnership with Light Horse Legacy, an organization focused on supporting veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder; and

WHEREAS, the sculpture depicts memories of what soldiers yearned for back home in the United States, combined with helicopter squadron units, and original letters from soldiers; and

WHEREAS, the documentary film portrays the journey of a medevac helicopter, on a rescue mission in Vietnam, as it is resurrected and morphs from wounded war bird into vivid sculpture, and displays the power of art to heal surviving soldiers and families of the fallen; and

WHEREAS, 'Take Me Home Huey' is dedicated to the 2,709,918 Americans who served in Vietnam and is an ambassador and catalyst for conversation for veterans from all conflicts, promoting healing and bringing awareness to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder; and

WHEREAS, this exhibition would not be possible without the support of many and it is an opportunity to honor our veterans and reaffirm our commitment and promise to all those who have selflessly served our country to never forget the sacrifice they have made;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BRIAN SANDOVAL, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim  do hereby recognize the
