WHEREAS, organizations across the Silver State are taking a stand against sexual violence; and
WHEREAS, Sexual Assault Awareness Month calls attention to the fact that sexual violence is widespread and impacts communities nationwide; and
WHEREAS, Nevadans are dedicated to sexual violence prevention and education efforts to challenge the societal myths and behaviors that perpetuate sexual assault and violence; and
WHEREAS, sexual violence affects people regardless of age, race, ethnicity, family or relationship status, profession, income level, disability status, religion, gender, or sexual orientation; and
WHEREAS, sexual violence undermines the values and safety of Nevada communities; and
WHEREAS, the Silver State is committed to engaging new voices to speak up and speak out against sexual violence, with the common goal of expanding sexual assault prevention efforts to ensure the next generation fosters attitudes that promote healthy relationships, equality, and respect;
