WHEREAS, the Classics and classical antiquity remain fundamental to modern society, and are reflected in our government, laws, literature, language, science, and arts; and
WHEREAS, the study of classical civilizations helps develop analytical and reasoning skills, as well as an awareness and understanding of many governmental institutions, literary conventions, and philosophical ideas; and
WHEREAS, organizations around the Silver State are dedicated to the promotion and study of classical languages and cultures for Greek and Latin students across the state; and
WHEREAS, Nevada Classics Week, held in commemoration of the traditional “birthday” of Rome, provides an opportunity to promote and connect with the legacies of Greece and Rome;
