WHEREAS,  Nevada Health Centers, a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center, is guided by the mission of providing access to quality healthcare services throughout Nevada; and

WHEREAS, Nevada Health Centers was founded in 1977 as a rural health consortium working with several Nevada counties and funded by the Rural Health Initiative Project; and

WHEREAS, Nevada Health Centers has grown from providing healthcare to 12,564 patients in 1978 to 151,500 patients in 2015 with services provided across the state in centers within many rural communities as well as Las Vegas and Carson City; and

WHEREAS, Nevada Health Centers has grown to more than 15 centers throughout Nevada, providing medical and dental services, as well as two mobile programs, the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile and the Nevada Health Centers Mammovan, seven Women, Infants and Children sites, and a visiting nurse program in Lockwood; and

WHEREAS, Nevada Health Centers is the largest provider of primary care for the uninsured, underinsured, or geographically isolated people in the state; and

WHEREAS, Nevada Health Centers is celebrating 40 years of providing access to quality healthcare services throughout Nevada;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BRIAN SANDOVAL, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim  February 15, 2017 as a day in honor of

 Nevada Health Centers
