WHEREAS, Maureen Elizabeth Brower has devoted her career to public service in Nevada, working in various civic and political arenas for more than thirty years; and

WHEREAS, Maureen served in the Nevada State Assembly from 1994 representing District 3 in Clark County; and

WHEREAS, Maureen was active in many civic organizations and served on many boards in Las Vegas including the Chamber of Commerce, the Nevada Association of Independent Businesses and Hispanics in Politics; and

WHEREAS, Maureen joined the Office of the Governor in 2004, and was appointed Director of Governor Kenny Guinn's Las Vegas office and was selected to serve on the Governor's Workforce Investment Board; and

WHEREAS, Maureen has continued her State service working for the Nevada Legislature under Senator James Settelmeyer and then the Office of the Secretary of State under Secretary Barbara Cegavske; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada commends Maureen Brower for all she has done for Nevada and its leaders, and extends to her best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BRIAN SANDOVAL, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim  April 14, 2017 as a day in honor of

 Maureen Brower
