Proclamation Header


WHEREAS, Kathy Camba has devoted more than 30 years of public service to the State of Nevada,
retiring from the Department of Administration, Enterprise IT Services Division; and

WHEREAS, Kathy has been a key player in the design, creation, management, maintenance, modification, and upgrade replacement of no less than three versions of the Nevada Criminal Justice Information System; and

WHEREAS, Kathy has overseen the conversion and transfer of applications and data off the mainframe, off the mainframe replacement client-server platforms, and onto the current web friendly, object oriented, modular platform which should serve the State for a decade or more; and

WHEREAS, she has overseen the conversion of programs for the correction of the Y2K issue common to applications created prior to 1999, with the result that not a single program ultimately failed due to rollover to the year 2000; and

WHEREAS, throughout her career, Kathy has always worked to find the best solution to a problem and has worked to implement a resolution that addresses the full issue, and she has served as an inspiring leader, helping, instructing and accepting nothing but the best from herself and those under her wing; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada commends Kathy 011 her outstanding tenure as a dedicated State employee and joins her family, friends and colleagues in extending sincere appreciate to her for her many years of service, with best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BRIAN SANDOVAL, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim  November 3, 2017 as a day in honor of
