WHEREAS, the Willow Reindeer Project began in 1998, with a class project in a Nevada school that captivated the imaginations of students and teachers; and
WHEREAS, since the project's inception, more than 38,000 students in the Silver State have participated and benefited from this creative initiative that allows young learners to explore geometry, geography, and American history through the arts; and
WHEREAS, the Willow Reindeer Project has become a part of the holiday season in Nevada, with the Capitol building, Legislative building, Supreme Court and other state buildings, businesses and organizations participating each year with the one-of-a-kind Willow Reindeer created by students in the Silver State; and
WHEREAS, the project's creator and director, Willow Bill, continues to work passionately toward inspiring and engaging Nevada's students, promoting creativity, and cultivating an enthusiasm for education, art and history in Nevada's communities; and
WHEREAS, the State of Nevada applauds programs and initiatives such as the Willow Reindeer Project which promote education and artistic expression, and commends the students, community members, sponsors and volunteers whose support has helped to establish the Willow Reindeer Project as a Nevada tradition;
