WHEREAS, the State of Nevada is committed to providing opportunities for educational enrichment and success to all students, both within the classroom and beyond; and

WHEREAS, education about and participation in the creative arts extends opportunities for Nevada's students to develop important skills, express their unique talents and abilities, and broaden their cultural perspectives and views of the world around them; and

WHEREAS, theatre, as an artistic medium, is an important refection of human experience that helps to demonstrate and convey valuable lessons concerning universal concepts; and

WHEREAS, Nevada's educators are able to offer more variety in classroom instruction through creative drama and role playing projects for their students, who are then able to develop increased confidence and improved self-esteem when confronted with dramatized stories and experiences; and

WHEREAS, the talented students and dedicated faculty of Bonanza High School in Las Vegas, Nevada continue to show a laudable commitment to theatre and the creative arts, and will perform "Alice in Wonderland, Jr." on March 16, 2016;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BRIAN SANDOVAL, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim  March 16, 2016, as

 Theatre in Our Schools Day in Nevada
