WHEREAS, March 12, 2016, marks the 104th anniversary of Girl Scouts of the USA, an exemplary organization founded by Juliette Gordon Low in 1912 in Savannah, Georgia; and
WHEREAS, throughout its distinguished history, Girl Scouting has inspired millions of girls and women, equipping them with essential life and leadership skills and helping to instill the highest ideals of courage, confidence, and character; and
WHEREAS, Girl Scouting provides girls across the nation with opportunities to discover their full potential, build vital personal relationships, and take action to make their local communities and the world a better place; and
WHEREAS, more than 3.2 million current Girl Scout members nationwide will be celebrating 104 years of this American tradition, joining 59 million women who are former Girl Scouts and living proof of the impact of this amazing movement; and
WHEREAS, during the 78th Legislative Session, Assembly Bill 449 was signed into law to express the State of Nevada's continued support for scouting organizations and the role they play in helping to cultivate successful future leaders and citizens; and
WHEREAS, the State of Nevada proudly joins states and communities nationwide in celebrating the 104th Anniversary of Girl Scouts of the USA, with appreciation to the many dedicated volunteers who contribute to this outstanding organization;
