WHEREAS, since the earliest days of America's history, generations of immigrants from every corner of the globe have been integral to developing our nation's economy, building our infrastructure, and helping to define our nation's unique character; and

WHEREAS, immigrants continue to pursue the American dream by establishing and growing businesses, spurring innovation, strengthening our economy, and creating jobs in Nevada and across the country; and

WHEREAS, immigrant communities reflect unique social, historical, and cultural influences and traditions that enrich the extraordinary character of our nation, and immigrants have contributed to our society as leading figures in politics, industry, education, science and technology, and many other fields; and

WHEREAS, immigrants have greatly supported America's national quest for expanded freedom and civil rights, and have led efforts to create a fairer and more just society for all Americans based on the ideals that inspired the founding of our nation; and

WHEREAS, the role of immigrants in shaping the history of this nation must never be understated, and the profound impact that immigrant communities have had and continue to have should be celebrated as a key component of the American story; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada joins communities and states across the country to celebrate the important role of immigrants in the history of our state and our nation, as well as the important role they will continue to have in shaping our future;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BRIAN SANDOVAL, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim  June, 2016
