WHEREAS, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), also known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) is a nerve disorder that causes chronic pain; and

WHEREAS, the symptoms of CRPS/RSD are often described as a burning that is out of proportion to the severity of the initial injury, and can include extreme sensitivity to the touch and swelling; and

WHEREAS, while CRPS/RSD was first identifed during the Civil War, it remains a poorly understood condition and there is no cure; and

WHEREAS, research relating to CRPS/RSD is ongoing and those affected by this disease are spreading awareness throughout their communities; and

WHEREAS, members of the CRPS/RSD community will be celebrating the third-annual Color the World Orange Day to spread awareness of this poorly understood pain disorder;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BRIAN SANDOVAL, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim  November 7, 2016

 CRPS/RSD AWARENESS DAY IN NEVADA
