WHEREAS, The soldiers of the 191st Assault Helicopter Company served our country with unwavering dedication; and 

WHEREAS, during Vietnam these American heroes flew more than 37,000 combat hours and spent nearly 300 days conducting combat assaults during the first 13 months of the company's operational history with many brave actions and without regard for their own safety; and

WHEREAS, the members of the 191st Assault Helicopter Company continue to serve our nation, and throughout the years have remained dedicated to their communities and country; and

WHEREAS, the soldiers of the 191st Assault Helicopter Company continue their distinguished service by assisting veterans through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and devoting themselves to their communities through service in churches, hospitals, shelters and other areas of need; and

WHEREAS, this Company is committed to ensuring that their brothers are not forgotten by sharing personal photos and memories on the Virtual Wall, an online memorial to those who gave their lives for our country, to give their families and friends a sense of closure; and

WHEREAS, on behalf of a grateful state and nation we say 'Welcome Home" as 2016 marks the 50th anniversary of the formation of the 191st Assault Helicopter Company

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BRIAN SANDOVAL, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim  September 10, 2016 as a day in honor of the

 191st ASSAULT HELICOPTER COMPANY
