WHEREAS, Shirley Haley has served the Silver State with distinction for approximately thirty years, the entirety of which she has spent with the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Welfare and Supportive Services; and

WHEREAS, Shirley began her career with the State of Nevada Child Support Enforcement Program, where she served from 1986 until 2001, later transferring to the Belrose District Office to operate the Medicaid Hotline, where she was responsible for taking calls from care providers to verify Medicaid coverage for Nevada clients; and

WHEREAS, in early 2004, Shirley became a unit clerk for the Belrose MAABD team and was later transferred to the Lewis Complex to serve in a supervisory role in the call center; and

WHEREAS, Shirley has served under five Nevada governors, including Governors Richard Bryan, Robert Miller, Kenny C. Guinn, Jim Gibbons and Governor Brian Sandoval; and

WHEREAS, Shirley has demonstrated an absolute loyalty to the State of Nevada Division of Welfare and Supportive Services, and supported its goals through her exemplary dedication and commitment to public service; and

WHEREAS, Shirley is regarded for her positive attitude, patience, and dependability in her work for the agency, and has earned the respect of her colleagues for her ability to promote a comfortable, friendly, and efficient organizational atmosphere; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada joins Shirley's colleagues and friends in expressing appreciation to her for her many years of service and dedication, and extends best wishes to her for a happy, healthy, and fulfilling retirement;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BRIAN SANDOVAL, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim  February 12, 2016 as a day in honor of
