WHEREAS, Norma Delaney will retire on April 12, 2016 from the Nevada Equal Rights Commission (NERC) after devoting nearly 37 years of loyal, diligent and exceptional public service to the State of Nevada; and
WHEREAS, Norma began her career with the State of Nevada in 1979 as an Administrative Assistant in the Department of Health and Human Services, later transferring to the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation, and has served in various State of Nevada public service positions throughout her career; and
WHEREAS, Norma has served under six Nevada Governors, including Governor Brian Sandoval and former Governors Jim Gibbons, Kenny C. Guinn, Bob Miller, Robert List, and Mike O'Callaghan, as well as six directors of her department; and
WHEREAS, Norma has displayed exceptional commitment and dedication throughout her more than three decades of service with the State of Nevada, during which time the citizens of Nevada were fortunate to have received exemplary service as a result of her commitment to excellence; and
WHEREAS, having exemplified the highest levels of service on behalf of her fellow citizens, Norma is now able to leave her position with the knowledge that she has made a lasting difference in our community; and
WHEREAS, the State of Nevada joins Norma's colleagues, friends, and loved ones in extending congratulations to her on her retirement, with deepest thanks and appreciation to her for her many years of devoted public service to the Silver State;
