WHEREAS, John Madole, Jr. will retire after a sterling career with the Nevada Chapter of Associated General Contractors that spans more than four decades; and

WHEREAS, John graduated from Sparks High School in 1963, after which he served and defended his country in the United States Navy until 1968, later earning his degree from the University of Nevada, Reno; and

WHEREAS, in 1972, John began his career with Associated General Contractors, an organization he has served for more than 43 years, becoming Executive Director in 1989 and overseeing a number of important construction projects and developments throughout his tenure; and

WHEREASin his capacity as Executive Director, John was pivotal to projects such as the completion of the College of Engineering at UNR, one of many achievements that distinguish his career in Nevada; and

WHEREAS, John is an exemplary member of the community who has raised a family in Nevada, led initiatives supporting education and economic development and contributed to maintaining a standard of excellence within the state's construction industry thereby helping to make our state a better place; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada congratulates John on his retirement, with gratitude for his contributions to the construction industry in the Silver State, and joins his family, friends, and colleagues in extending best wishes to him for a happy, successful, and fulfilling retirement;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BRIAN SANDOVAL, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim  January 7, 2016 as a day in honor of

 John Madole, Jr.
