WHEREAS, Jerolyn Tennyson is a dedicated and exceptional public servant who has served the State of Nevada for more than 30 years with great commitment, dedication, and respect for those served; and

WHEREAS, Jerolyn Tennyson began her state career with the Division of Welfare Services in June 1986 as a social worker providing adult protective services, child protective, adoption and eligibility services, and foster care licensing, ensuring the safety of children and vulnerable adults in the communities of Ely and Elko; and

WHEREAS, Jerolyn Tennyson was promoted in July 2001 to Social Work Supervisor II for the Division of Child and Family Services; supervising the Ely office long distance from Elko, commuting at least twice a month for 12 years to mentor staff providing child welfare services in White Pine, Eureka and Lincoln counties; and

WHEREAS, Jerolyn Tennyson was promoted in August 2012 to Social Services Manager III of the Elko District Office and the satellite offices in Ely and Winnemucca covering six rural counties; modeling a strong sense of purpose, ethics, and providing permanency for children in care through her tireless efforts, while maintaining her sense of humor and encouraging those around her to strive to do their best; and

WHEREAS, Jerolyn has dedicated her State career to serving Nevada's vulnerable children and families and will sincerely be missed, both professionally and personally, by all who have had the pleasure and good fortune to work with her; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada commends Jerolyn on her outstanding tenure as a dedicated State employee and joins her friends and colleagues in extending sincere appreciation for her many years of contributions to the Division of Child and Family Services, with best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BRIAN SANDOVAL, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim  December 2, 2016
