WHEREAS, Christopher Driggs is retiring after 25 years of dedicated service to the State of Nevada as an Archivist for the Nevada State Library and Archives, and as a Librarian at the Getchell Library on the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno; and

WHEREAS, Christopher Driggs earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Nevada, Reno, a Master of Arts in History from the University of Texas, having researched and written his thesis on Nevada Governor Emmet D. Boyle, and also a Masters of Library Science from the University of Washington; and

WHEREAS, with his encyclopedic knowledge of the history of Nevada state government and the holdings of the Nevada State Archives, Christopher Driggs has assisted many state agencies in finding information that has enabled them to answer important questions regarding the day-to-day operations of their offices; and

WHEREAS, Christopher Driggs has also helped many academic and independent researchers find documents that aided their research on Nevada history and state government; and

WHEREAS, Christopher trained new staging order to provide a better understanding and insights into the state archives holdings; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada recognizes the outstanding contributions of Christopher Driggs, and commends him for his many years of dedicated service to the Silver State and the citizens of Nevada;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BRIAN SANDOVAL, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim  December 2, 2016 as a day in honor of

 CHRISTOPHER DRIGGS
