WHEREAS, Barton Hickenbottom will retire on December 2, 2016, after dedicating more than 25 years of outstanding service to the people of the State of Nevada; and

WHEREAS, after college and serving in the United States Air Force, Bart Hickenbottom began his career with the State of Nevada, Employment Security Division in November 1991 as a Unemployment Insurance Representative in the Sparks office, and he later moved to the Benefits Fraud office in Carson City, and finally to the Contributions Section where he has served for the past 20 years; and

WHEREAS, through his career with the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation, Bart has been known for his professionalism, innovative ideas, commitment to service and mentoring of numerous colleagues, and was considered a team player with a great sense of humor, providing comic relief at office functions; and

WHEREAS, when not serving his fellow Nevadans in his professional capacity, Bart has contributed to his community as a youth soccer coach for more than 20 years and ski team volunteer, and enjoys the recreational opportunities available in Nevada, including skiing, cycling, hiking, camping and fishing with his family; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada commends Bart Hickenbottom on his outstanding tenure as a dedicated State employee, and joins his family, friends and colleagues in extending sincere appreciation for his years of outstanding service, with best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BRIAN SANDOVAL, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim  December 2, 2016 as

 A Day in Honor of Barton Hickenbottom
