Governor Brian Sandoval today announced the hiring of Kathryn Reynolds as General Counsel, effective August 28th, 2017. Reynolds will fill the vacancy created with the departure of Daniel Stewart in early August. She will serve as Counsel to the Governor and act as a primary liaison between the Governor’s office and several cabinet agencies, boards and commissions.
“Kathryn is an impressive lawyer with a wealth of experience that will benefit the office and our state. She is a thoughtful and brilliant individual who understands Nevada law and our judiciary. She has worked behind the scenes on many of the most high profile cases deliberated in our state and I know this experience will be an important addition to the office. I am grateful she has accepted this role and look forward to working with her,” said Governor Brian Sandoval.
Kathryn Reynolds has extensive experience working in Nevada’s judicial system having served as a law clerk for Nevada Supreme Court Justice Lidia Stiglich and Chief Justice William Maupin. Reynolds also served as a staff attorney for the Nevada Supreme Court and law clerk in the Second Judicial District Court in Washoe County, Nevada. She is a graduate of Pepperdine University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics with an English minor and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She received her Juris Doctorate from Valparaiso University School of Law and graduated Summa Cum Laude. Reynolds was an Executive Board Member of the Law Review.
