Governor Brian Sandoval issued the following statement today on relief efforts requested from the State of Nevada by FEMA. Requests are ongoing and updates will be provided. This weekend, the Governor extended his sympathies to the victims of the natural disaster and offered his gratitude to all volunteers and first responders providing assistance to those in harm’s way.
“The State of Nevada stands ready and willing to assist in disaster relief as we have during times of crisis including Hurricane Katrina and the Oroville Dam breech. Nevada Task Force One, which includes a four member and fourteen member team, has been requested and deployed in response to Hurricane Harvey. Representatives of the Nevada Division of Emergency Management will have a discussion today with the Federal Emergency Management Agency regarding additional resources.” - Governor Sandoval
