Senate Bill 92

Makes the Alzheimer’s Task Force a permanent entity within the Department of Health and Human Services. The Task Force is charged with developing and implementing the state plan to address Alzheimer’s disease. The bill was sponsored by State Senator Joe Hardy and was passed out of both houses unanimously and becomes effective immediately.

Assembly Bill 9

Authorizes a Deputy of Securities position within the Secretary of State’s Office. Currently the position is held by an Administrator who oversees the Securities Division. The division regulates the securities industry both criminally and civilly and licenses firms and businesses engaged in the sale of securities. AB9 was introduced by the Secretary of State’s Office, passed both houses unanimously and becomes effective immediately.

Assembly Bill 13

Changes references to the “state business registration” for which businesses pay a licensing fee to “state business license.” AB13 was introduced by the Secretary of State’s Office, passed both houses unanimously and becomes effective on July 1, 2017.
