MEDIA ADVISORY: Governor Sandoval Orders Flags to Half-Staff in Honor of Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance

CARSON CITY, NV - September 12, 2016

Governor Brian Sandoval has signed Executive Order 2016-28, ordering all flags to fly at half-staff tomorrow, Sunday, September 11 from sunrise to sunset in recognition of Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance.

“In the past 15 years much has transpired in our country, in the world, and in our lives. Each year in towns and cities across our nation, Americans pause to reflect, mourn, comfort and take pride in the truth that America remains the greatest nation on earth. We recommit ourselves to the idea that as Americans, there is more that unites us than divides us and that when the hour is darkest we can become one family, one nation,” said Governor Brian Sandoval. “This September 11, we honor the men and women of the United States Armed Forces who have answered the call to serve our nation. We pay tribute to the selfless commitment of first responders, firefighters and police officers in communities across our nation. And, we remember those who have fallen, the wounded warriors who have come home, and the many who remain deployed.”

The Governor will deliver remarks at the September 11 ceremony this Sunday in Fallon, NV at 2:30 p.m.
