Governor Sandoval Appoints David Jones to Eighth Judicial District Court

CARSON CITY, NV - November 21, 2016

Governor Brian Sandoval today announced the appointment of David M. Jones to the Eighth Judicial District Court, Department 29, effective January 2, 2017. This vacancy was created as a result of the passing of Judge Susan W. Scann. 

“David Jones has the temperament, work ethic, and intelligence to serve the southern Nevada community as a member of the judiciary. In addition to his expansive litigation portfolio he also presides as a Short Trial Judge and serves as a court ordered mediator and arbitrator. His unique experience working with at-risk youth as a judge in the Truancy Diversion Program through the Family Court System provides him with an broad view of the impact of our legal system on all of our citizens,” said Governor Brian Sandoval.  “I am confident that David brings a commitment to fairness in the judicial system and will be a strong addition to the Eighth Judicial District Court.”

Esther Rodriguez serves as a Pro Tem Judge in Clark County and currently has a very successful and diverse law practice. Mark Gentile is one of the State’s most seasoned trial lawyers with experience in rural and urban Nevada. They both have my sincere gratitude for their time and efforts,” said Governor Brian Sandoval.

 

David Jones is a partner in the Las Vegas office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the General Liability Practice. David Jones has been practicing in Nevada since 1992. He completed his undergraduate studies at Arizona State University, graduating as the Distinguished Graduate in the College of Education. Following graduation, he taught in the Clark County School District. Mr. Jones obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. David Jones is a native Nevadan and currently resides in Henderson, NV.
