Governor Brian Sandoval will attend several events today and tomorrow in Las Vegas, NV. The Governor is currently scheduled to deliver remarks at the Nevada National Guard mobilization ceremony; host the Nevada Veteran of the Month recognition event; attend the Faraday Future Pre-CES Reveal and deliver welcome remarks at an Autonomous Vehicle workshop hosted by Nevada Departments of Transportation, Motor Vehicles and trade association partners. Nevada National Guard Mobilization Ceremony:

Nevada media are welcome to attend the mobilization ceremony for the Nevada Army National Guard’s 17th Sustainment Brigade today, Monday, Jan. 4, at 10 a.m. at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. The Las Vegas-based brigade is set to deploy more than 250 Soldiers to Kuwait to support operations in the region. The brigade will also send teams to Jordan, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates to support U.S. forces and allies in those areas.

Automated Vehicles Public Policy Workshop:

“The Future of Driving, Vehicles and Infrastructure”

WHAT: The Nevada Departments of Transportation (NDOT), Motor Vehicles (DMV), and trade association partners will host an automated vehicle public policy workshop. The workshop will bring together 120 governmental licensing, enforcement and transportation officials as well as auto manufacturers, data providers and insurers to determine a future regulatory framework for automated vehicles.
WHO: Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval is scheduled to deliver the opening remarks at 9 a.m., followed by NDOT Director Rudy Malfabon. Additional attendees include representatives from carmakers Volkswagen, Daimler, Toyota, Ford and Hyundai, among others, as well as federal and state officials from Nevada, Michigan, California, Iowa, Arizona, Washington D.C. and Colorado.
