Carson City, NV - May 21, 2015
Governor Brian Sandoval today announced he signed Senate Bill 9, a bill which requires the Nevada Gaming Commission to adopt regulations allowing and encouraging gaming technology manufacturers to develop and incorporate innovative and advanced technology in their products. The bill also promotes opportunities for gaming properties to incorporate skill-based games that may be appealing to a new generation of visitors.
“There is no other destination in the world that can rival the experience millions of visitors travel to Nevada for annually. In order for our state to sustain its edge in an increasingly competitive gaming industry, we must continue to expand, evolve, and embrace the potentials found in the 21st century,” said Governor Brian Sandoval. “This bill allows gaming manufacturers to use cutting-edge technology to meet the challenges prompted by a younger, more technologically engaged visitor demographic. Passing this legislation into law is an important step forward in providing new opportunities for this critical industry to progress while ensuring that Nevada remains the global epicenter for gaming innovation and development.”
