Governor Brian Sandoval today released the following statement after final passage of Assembly Bill 165, Nevada Educational Choice Act. Governor Sandoval first introduced a version of this program in 2011 and has continued to champion school choice throughout his tenure.

“This is a great day for students across Nevada. The creation of Opportunity Scholarships ensures that all children, regardless of financial ability, will have the opportunity to attend a school that provides an education that best suits their needs,” said Governor Brian Sandoval. “I would like to thank the members of the Legislature who supported this critical program and recognize both Assembly Education Chairman Melissa Woodbury and Assemblyman David Gardner who shepherded this bill through both Chambers.”
