Governor Brian Sandoval issued the following statement today after joint committee passage of the Governor’s recommended budget for education which included substantial new investments in targeted programs and initiatives.
“I would like to thank Senate Finance Chairman Ben Kieckhefer, Assembly Ways and Means Chairman Paul Anderson, and the members of their committees for their careful review of my education package. By approving the funding for these programs designed to modernize our education system, the Legislature has demonstrated they hold education as a top priority and understand the critical need to invest in reforming education in Nevada,” said Governor Brian Sandoval. “Today we move one step closer toward creating an education system that equips students and teachers with the tools they need to succeed in the classroom and prepare to compete as innovators, job creators, and leaders of the New Nevada economy.”
